Students will continue to refine their skill and dance technique.  They will develop more advanced dance skills and expand their knowledge in the understanding and performance of abstract dance genres, staging, and choreographic principles. Students will apply the elements of composition for performance opportunities. Students are required to participate in a dance concert at the end of each semester, which will require additional rehearsals outside of normal school hours. Dancers will explore the historical, cultural, and academic areas related to dance as an art form and apply critical analysis to live dance performances.  

 

Prerequisite: Grade of "B" or better in Beginning or Intermediate Dance and/or permission of teacher and audition.
